Description :

SWISCORP has been appointed as consulting engineers for the rehabilitation of all regulation systems at the Salvajina Hydropower Station in Colombia. The three Francis units, each with a capacity of 115 MW, generate power from the Cauca River. Our team faced three main challenges during this mission:

  1. Access to the power plant, located in a high-risk area, required meticulous planning to ensure the safety of all parties involved.
  2. The existing Japanese-origin technology demanded an in-depth understanding to effectively design and integrate the new governor system.
  3. Sourcing key components from Europe, ensuring their manufacturing met quality standards, and delivering them on time was a critical challenge.
